New Me Weekly #2
Is Home the Most Dangerous Place for a Woman?
Your 5-minute reset for starting over
Hi folks! Mashav here, welcome to your weekly dose of insight, inspiration, and forward motion.
Each week, I’ll share one story, one weekly highlight, and one rec worth consuming.
ONE STORY:
The Truth About Life After Divorce
Once you’ve made the decision to end your marriage, the part no one prepares you for begins.
Yes, you expect it to be hard.
Yes, you expect to feel lonely.
But what you don’t expect is just how many pieces of your life fall apart all at once—and how many new struggles emerge that you never saw coming.
The Truth About Life After Divorce
When you’re thinking about ending a marriage, you know it’s going to change your life—but what no one tells you is how deep that change runs. I want to share why I do the work I do, because for me, this isn’t just a job. It’s personal. It’s lived. And it’s necessary.
ONE VIDEO:
Home Is The Most Dangerous Place For A Woman
In the last ten years in France, domestic violence has more than doubled. The number of victims is estimated to be close to one million a year, in France alone. AXA home insurance company did something about it in a surprisingly creative way. Watch the full story:
ONE RECOMMENDATION:
Book: The Practice by Seth Godin
"We don't ship the work because we're creative. We're creative because we ship the work."
This message in the core of the book resonates deeply. I just finished reading it for the second time this year, highlighting even more insights the second time around. The concept of getting internally motivated by the habit of creating, instead of centering on results, really changed my perspective as a content creator. It's probably the reason you're now reading this weekly newsletter I started sending. If you read and loved "The Artist Way" by Julia Cameron, 30 years ago, this book is motivating in a similar way.
What does it have to do with starting over? It's about committing to a process without any certainty or reassurances, and trusting ourselves to make it to the other side anyway. This is the type of resilience needed when starting over or rebuilding after a big life shift.
